We are angry, but we are ready to take down Barcelona

In strong statements before the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, Argentine Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan’s striker, confirmed his complete confidence in his teammates, indicating the team’s readiness to give their best in the important match that will take place at Montjuïc Stadium tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30.

Lautaro said at the pre-match press conference: “We are angry about the recent defeats, but we know that the team has the ability to bounce back. We have had a great run so far, and despite the losses in recent matches, we know we can deliver a strong performance against a big team like Barcelona. We are motivated and ready for the match.”

Lautaro also spoke about the absence of Marcus Thuram, highlighting the player’s importance to the team: “Marcus is a very important player for us, and in recent matches, we have missed his presence. We do not know yet if he will play in the next match, but we hope he will be ready.”

He added regarding the negative phase the team has recently gone through: “We lost three consecutive matches, which is unusual for us, but the team is cohesive, and that is the key to getting out of this period. We are the first to suffer when we lose, but we are united and know how to overcome challenges.”

Regarding the team’s physical preparations, Lautaro said: “We are in good shape now, we have regained our energy after the recent matches, we are focusing on the final details of our preparation to deliver a strong and character-driven match. I can’t wait to play against Barcelona; we have a strong desire to win and continue our journey in the Champions League.”

Lautaro concluded his statements by discussing the team’s goals for the current season, saying: “We play to win every match, whether in the Champions League or in Serie A. We wear a jersey with a great reputation and feel proud of it. In the league, we have not been as precise as in the Champions League, but we know we need to improve in this aspect.”
