The Spanish club Real Madrid officially announced in a statement that Ferland Mendy underwent a successful surgery after his injury in the Clasico during the final of the Copa del Rey.
The club said: “Our player Ferland Mendy underwent successful surgery today for a tear in the proximal rectus femoris tendon in the right quadriceps muscle.”
It added: “The operation was performed by Dr. Manuel Leisis under the supervision of the medical services of Real Madrid.”
It concluded: “Mendy is scheduled to start his rehabilitation program in the coming days.”
The French star is expected to be absent from Real Madrid for a period of up to two months.
