The club stated: “Our player David Alaba underwent successful surgery today for a tear in the internal meniscus of his left knee.”
It added: “The surgery was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes and supervised by the medical services of Real Madrid.”
The club concluded: “Alaba is expected to begin his recovery process in the coming days.”
Alaba is expected to be sidelined for Real Madrid for a period of 6-8 weeks.
