Atletico Madrid Seeks to Sign Romero from Tottenham

According to media reports, Romero has expressed a serious desire to move to the Spanish capital and has already begun to pressure Tottenham’s management to facilitate his departure as soon as the team finishes its participation in the Europa League.
Despite Atletico Madrid’s interest, the deal is not easy, as Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, has set the player’s price at 70 million euros and refuses to open negotiations before the end of the European season.
Additionally, Romero’s transfer faces another obstacle due to Atletico Madrid’s current limit on non-European players, as the trio of Lino, Molina, and Gallagher currently occupy these spots, and the club is considering selling one of them, especially Lino, to make room for Romero’s registration.
Despite the complications, Romero’s strong desire to wear Atletico’s jersey could play a crucial role in finalizing the deal, making it one of the most important transfers of the summer 2025 window in La Liga.
