We achieved a good result, but it’s not over yet

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim appeared in press statements after the 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final at San Mames.

The coach said: “The result is really good, but we have to understand it at the same time. We suffered a lot at the beginning, and the red card for the Bilbao player changed the course of the match.”

He added: “Any match can change with one situation. We had the chance to score an additional goal. It’s not over yet, and they can do the same at Old Trafford.”

He emphasized: “They are strong and very motivated. We need to be ready.”

He continued: “Manuel Ogarte, who has a lot of experience, was a bit nervous, and Patrick [Dorgo] was nervous too. Players like Casemiro, Harry Maguire, and Bruno Fernandes help a lot.”

Regarding Harry Maguire: “Sometimes we go through tough moments in our lives, and Harry has gone through tough moments. Everything he does is beneficial for the team, so we need to enjoy it.”

On the second leg: “Of course, we have the advantage. We have our fans, but this can change again; anything can happen in a single match.

He concluded: “We need to be very careful with our players against Brentford. Noussair Mazraoui was substituted, and Patrick Dorgo is exhausted – we need to manage the players well.”
