Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer Leverkusen, has refused to comment on reports linking him to a departure at the end of the season to take over as coach of Real Madrid.
The Spanish coach said at a press conference: “I have nothing new to say about my future, and the answer is the same: we have to wait.”
He added: “Communication with the club is always good. There is clarity between me and the club’s management.”
Alonso is considered the top candidate to take over as coach of Real Madrid should Carlo Ancelotti leave the royal club this summer.
