We believe in what we do, and I was looking forward to this

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen spoke in a press statement after the 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid in the 34th round of La Liga, at the Nuevo José Zorrilla Stadium.

Ter Stegen said: “The first participation after 223 days? I was very excited for this match. Winning would be better. We continue in the same vein. I look forward to the coming weeks and the great matches.”

He commented on the difficulty of the match: “When we were down 1-0, it becomes difficult in any stadium. They had nothing to lose. I regret their relegation to the second division. They are a great team, with their fans.”

Regarding the substitutions: “Flick finds a good balance. He appreciates everyone. We are one team. We all win and enjoy teamwork.”

He concluded: “This is a team that believes in what we do. We knew we needed to give more in the second half. I think we finished the first half a little better. In the second half, we scored two goals. And I think we dropped back a little again due to injuries and fatigue.”
