Pedri said regarding the referee’s decisions: “UEFA should investigate this referee, as many of the decisions made today I did not understand. This is not the first time this has happened to us with this referee.”
He added: “As coach Hans Flick said, the decisions that were 50% for us and 50% for them were given in their favor. For example, in the incident with Lamine, I see it as a clear yellow card against Mkhitaryan and maybe even a penalty; the player should have been sent off, and I don’t understand why that didn’t happen.”
He continued: “I feel frustrated; we managed to come back after being down 2-0, and I am proud of this team for what they did. The elimination is very harsh, especially after their third goal in the last minute. The team gave everything, and we deserved to qualify for the final, but we are a young team and we have to learn from this.”
He concluded: “Next year we will come back stronger. Right now we are frustrated because of what happened, that is clear, but tomorrow we have to think about the Clasico, as it represents half of the league for us, and we will do everything to win.”
