UEFA Champions League
Controversial Penalty in the Clash Between Inter and Barcelona

The ongoing match between Barcelona and Inter in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, held at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, featured a controversial moment.
Barcelona defender Pau Koubarsi intervened on Lautaro Martinez in the 41st minute inside the penalty area, before the latter fell to the ground.
The video assistant referee summoned the referee to review the incident on the VAR screen, before the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Lautaro, which was converted into a second goal for Inter by Mkhitaryan.
Barcelona coach Hans Flick and the players expressed their strong anger after the referee awarded the penalty against Koubarsi.
Some believe the penalty was justified, while others argue that it was not a valid penalty and that Koubarsi’s intervention did not warrant a penalty kick.
