Referee Appointment for the El Clasico Match Between Barcelona and Real Madrid

The Spanish Football Federation’s Referee Committee has settled on the officiating team for the upcoming El Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, which is part of the 35th round of the Spanish league.

Barcelona will host their traditional rival Real Madrid next Sunday at the Montjuïc Stadium in a decisive match that could play a significant role in determining the La Liga champion this season.

Barcelona is currently at the top of the Spanish league table with 79 points, while Real Madrid occupies the second place with 75 points, with 4 rounds remaining in the competition.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Relief”, international referee Alejandro Hernández has been appointed to officiate the match, with Martínez Munuera taking responsibility for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room.

Hernández has previously officiated 4 El Clasico matches, the last being in 2019, and statistics indicate that the two teams have drawn in two matches, while each has won one match.
