Fabregas Reveals Details of Previous Offer from Ancelotti

The Spanish Cesc Fabregas, the current head coach of Como in Italy, revealed the behind-the-scenes of a previous offer from coach Carlo Ancelotti when the latter was in charge of Napoli, and he also spoke about his coaching experience and praised several great coaches he has worked with.

Fabregas said: “My personal project was to continue playing, but at the same time, I started to see myself as a coach, and Como gave me the opportunity for that.”

He added: “I was following the youth team, I completed a coaching course, and I bought some shares in the club. Everything happened much faster than I expected. I signed a two-year contract to play, but after the first season, I no longer had the energy, and this is where my coaching journey began early.”

Regarding Ancelotti’s offer, Fabregas clarified: “I was in a restaurant, and when my agent saw him, he said to me: ‘You will see that Carlo will ask you to come to Napoli.’ Indeed, his first words were, ‘Are you ready to come with me?'”

Fabregas also praised coach Jose Mourinho, saying: “I owe a lot to Mourinho, and I have said that on several occasions, adding: ‘People see that Mourinho and Guardiola are different, but from my perspective, both share an obsession with winning, a winning mentality, and a great ability to transfer this spirit to the players. Antonio Conte is not much different from them either.'”

The Como coach concluded his statements by saying: “The Como project is still in its early stages, and we aspire for further development in the upcoming period after officially securing the match.”
