Liverpool Deserves the Guard of Honor, and Our Goal is to Be in Their Place One Day

Mariska: Liverpool Deserves the Guard of Honor, and Our Goal is to Be in Their Place One Day

Enzo Mariska, the head coach of Chelsea, confirmed that his players will hold a guard of honor to celebrate Liverpool’s Premier League title before the anticipated match between the two teams on Sunday in the 35th round of the tournament at Stamford Bridge.

Mariska said: “Yes, we will hold a guard of honor for Liverpool, it is a tradition that must be respected, they have won the Premier League, and thus deserve this honor.”

He added: “The gap between us is clear, but it is gradually narrowing, I feel that we are heading in the right direction, and we are striving hard to reduce this gap in the coming seasons.”

He continued: “The biggest difference is in consistency, we have been good at times this season, then we lost some matches, consistency is a trait that Liverpool possesses thanks to their experienced players.”

He went on: “Certainly, if we want to narrow the gap with clubs like Liverpool, we need to take clear steps, next year our team will be more experienced, as this season has given the players extra time together.”

He confirmed: “We have players developing significantly like Levi Colwill, who is showing clear development in leadership, we hope that the current players continue to grow to contribute to building a stronger team.”

He noted: “I don’t think we need the guard of honor to understand the greatness of winning the league, but perhaps when the players see Liverpool honored in this way, it will inspire them to dream of being in the same place one day.”

Regarding the condition of Nkunku and Sanchez, he said: “The medical staff will update me on the latest developments today, Robert Sanchez has started training on the pitch, and I believe that his condition is better than Nkunku’s, but we will see the developments throughout the day.”
