Al Ahli Saudi etched its name in golden letters in the record of Asian football after winning the AFC Champions League title for the first time in its history, an unprecedented achievement for the Arabs.

In a vibrant atmosphere at the “Jewel of Jeddah” stadium, Al Ahli succeeded in overcoming Kawasaki from Japan with a clean two-goal victory, scored by Galeno and Kessie in the first half.

Al Ahli finished its journey in the tournament without any defeat, becoming the fifth team in the history of the competition to achieve this, securing a spot in the 2029 Club World Cup and the 2025 Intercontinental Cup.

With this Asian victory, Al Ahli raised Saudi Arabia’s tally to seven continental titles, joining Al Hilal and Al Ittihad as Saudi clubs that have won the tournament, enhancing the status of Saudi football on the Asian stage.

The trio of Mahrez, Firmino, and Mendy achieved a rare double by winning both the European and Asian Champions Leagues, while Firmino won the Best Player award, and Mendy was named Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

Kessie etched his name as the second Ivorian player to score in an Asian final, while Firmino assisted two goals to match Anderson Chiku’s achievement, and Salem Al-Dosari topped the scorers’ list with 10 goals.
