Borussia Dortmund Freezes Contract Renewal Negotiations for 4 Players

The German newspaper “Bild” reported that Borussia Dortmund has decided not to make new offers at this time to renew the contracts of four of its players: Emre Can, Julian Brandt, Pascal Groß, and Niklas Süle, despite the approaching end of their contracts in the summer of 2026.

The newspaper clarified that the German club will rely on the players’ performance during the next season to determine their fate, whether it be renewal or allowing them to leave.

Julian Brandt’s performance has fluctuated noticeably this season, which may open the door for his departure at the end of the season for a suitable financial offer, as the team aims to finish the league among the top four positions qualifying for the Champions League.

Conversely, both captain Emre Can and defender Niklas Süle have faced sharp criticism from fans due to their declining performance, while Pascal Groß will turn 35 next June, which reduces his chances of continuing for a long time at the club.
