We were out of the tournament, and what happened means a lot to us

Inter goalkeeper Jan Sommer spoke in a press statement after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League final, winning 4-3 against Barcelona in the second leg of the semi-final, knowing that the first leg ended 3-3.

The goalkeeper said in his remarks: “It was a crazy match. I am very proud of this team and our style of play.”

He added: “We were out of the tournament at some moments, then we came back – it was amazing.”

He emphasized: “What happened means a lot to us, you don’t have many chances to reach the final, we knew in the last four minutes of extra time that it was our last chance to qualify.”

He concluded: “We gave our best on this pitch with our fans.”
