We are capable of performing well in the Club World Cup

The Portuguese star Joao Cancelo of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal confirmed that his team is capable of delivering a good performance in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Al-Hilal’s group in the Club World Cup includes Spain’s Real Madrid, Mexico’s Pachuca, and Austria’s Salzburg.

Cancelo said in an interview with the official website of the International Football Federation (FIFA): “I watched the match between Pachuca and Real Madrid a while ago, and I really liked their style of play.”

He added, “Real Madrid is always a tough team, possessing strong attacking players who excel in all areas of the pitch, which is why they always qualify for the final stages of the Champions League.”

He continued, “As a defender, I love facing the best players, and they are undoubtedly among the best in the world. I am not exaggerating in my enthusiasm; it is a tournament that includes the best teams in the world, but I believe we are capable of performing well, and we will go there to compete strongly.”

He added, “It is very difficult to contain those players (Mbappe, Rodrygo, and Vinicius); they are amazing talents. I am very impressed with these three players, but Real Madrid has other outstanding players as well.”

He continued, “It is always good to play against strong teams. I am a Barcelona fan, but Real Madrid, Salzburg, and Pachuca are all very strong competitors.”

He added, “I think we need to first and foremost try to qualify from the group, and that is the most important thing, then we will take each match as it comes.”

Cancelo concluded, “It is a wonderful tournament, and I am sure many of us will have the support of our friends and families, and we will do our utmost, just as other teams do. We will take each match one at a time, aiming to go as far as possible.”
