Due to Al Ahly’s Victory in the Champions League.. Al Nassr Elevates the Crisis of the Al Urooba Match

Al Ahly ignited the Asian qualification battle after winning the AFC Champions League title, following their 2-0 victory over Kawasaki Frontale in Jeddah, tightening the noose around their rival Al Nassr.

Al Nassr had exited the tournament in the semifinals after a thrilling loss to Kawasaki with a score of 3-2, while Al Ahly made their way to the final by defeating Al Hilal, before clinching the coveted continental title.

Al Ahly’s official qualification for the Asian elite left only two spots for other Saudi clubs, which will go to the Roshen League champion and runner-up this season, increasing the pressure on Al Nassr, currently in third place.

To salvage their chances, Al Nassr decided to resort to rapid arbitration in their case against Al Urooba, demanding the allocation of three points due to the participation of goalkeeper Rafi’ Al-Ruwaili, who violated regulations, according to the capital club’s management.

Al Nassr protests the participation of Al-Ruwaili in the 23rd round match due to his government job, despite being a professional player, which was rejected by the Disciplinary and Appeals Committees, leaving the hopes of the global team hanging on the decision of the Sports Arbitration Center.

The yellow team has 60 points in third place, behind Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, and with only five rounds remaining, every point seems crucial in the battle for the continental elite spots that have become a dream for the big teams.
