The Truth About the Increase in Roshan League Clubs Next Season

Yasser Al-Mashel, the President of the Saudi Football Federation, clarified that the number of clubs in the Roshan League will remain unchanged without any reduction or increase in the upcoming period.

Al-Mashel emphasized that the stability of local tournaments is a priority for the federation, asserting that any organizational changes must be announced before the start of the football season.

Al-Mashel’s statements came following the AFC Champions League final, which saw Al-Ahli Saudi crowned with the continental title for the first time in its history after defeating Kawasaki Japan.

He confirmed that making any adjustments to the number of clubs after the start of the season would be illogical and difficult to implement, given the technical and logistical arrangements associated with the competition.

He pointed out that the federation aims to provide a strong and organized tournament that befits the reputation of the Saudi league, by maintaining its stability and continuously developing it in a systematic and studied manner.
